HAS YOUR LIFE TURNED UPSIDE DOWN?
One day I sat on a rolling stool as the doctor and the next day I woke up on the other side of the sheets. When I permanently transitioned from surgeon in the operating room to patient in the emergency room, I discovered how to find blessings through adversity and “My Right Side Up Life.”
My personal journey with chronic illness, as well as the ups and downs of life, will encourage you to enjoy the ride. Glad you stopped by and I hope you will:

More about me…
I am Vickie Petz Henderson, M.D. I practiced obstetrics and gynecology for nearly twenty years, delivering over 5,000 precious babies at all hours of the day and night. Perpetually living in high gear, my life came to a screeching halt when I was diagnosed with a rare neuromuscular disease called myasthenia gravis. Previously, I pedaled my bicycle 100 miles in one day and the next day I struggled to walk 100 feet. It would appear my life was turned upside down, but I quickly discovered
My Right Side Up Life
Believing I was disabled to be enabled, I found a richer, fuller life and a new position–
Physician for the Soul
For years I counseled women from all walks of life through various difficulties. The countless hours spent listening to women share their deepest concerns and heartaches has perfectly positioned me to continue helping others via a different avenue – writing.
When I personally received a devastating diagnosis which took away my strength and prevented me from working and enjoying the activities I loved most, I had to ask myself if I believed all the advice I doled out over the years. My answer was a resounding, “Yes!” I believe…
- God is sufficient
- His word sustains
- He is able
- He has a plan
- I trust Him completely
Now it is your turn.
I always love hearing from you. I hope to help you find blessings in adversity.
